On May 15, there will be Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Jyestha month. Whose name is Apara or Achala Ekadashi. On this day sunrise will occur on Ekadashi date only, so this fast will be observed on Monday only. On this day, auspicious yoga is also being formed from the planets and constellations. Due to which the auspicious fruit of fasting and worship will increase further.

This time Sun, Mercury, Guru and Rahu will be in Aries on Achala Ekadashi. These stars are making Chaturgrahi Yoga. On this day, due to the conjunction of Mercury and Sun at the time of sunrise, Budhaditya auspicious yoga will be formed. On this day the moon will be in the zodiac sign and constellation of Jupiter. Due to which the effect of this planet will increase further. This planetary position will increase the auspicious results of Ekadashi fasting and worship.

There is a law to worship the Trivikram form of Lord Vishnu on Achala Ekadashi. Being Jyeshtha month, on this day Lord Vishnu is anointed by filling milk and Ganges water in a conch shell. Lord Trivikram is also bathed with Panchamrit and scented water.

Due to the coincidence of Ekadashi and Monday, this day will be a festival of Lord Vishnu along with Shivji and Surya Puja. Get up before sunrise and take a bath on the Ekadashi of Jyestha month. Then offer water to the rising sun. After this worship Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. There is a law in the scriptures to perform Shraddha for the satisfaction of ancestors on this date.

Pour water on Shivling and light sesame oil lamp
Light a lamp of sesame oil near Shivling on Ekadashi and Monday. Offer water to Shivling while reciting Om Namah Shivay mantra. Offer flowers of Janeu, Bilv Patra, Dhatura and Madar by applying sandalwood. Enjoy sweets. Light incense lamps. Do aarti.

There is importance of donating sesame seeds and water on the Ekadashi of Jyestha month. Earthen pots filled with water are donated to temples on this festival. There is a law to donate these pots in Shiva temples too. On this day, there is also a law to feed the needy people and donate clothes according to the season.
