Phulera Duj is the second date of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month. There is importance of worshiping Shri Krishna and Radha on this day. Along with this, the atmosphere of Holi starts being created in Shri Krishna temples in Braj from today itself. On this date Radha-Krishna is played Holi with flowers in the temples.

Moon will be in Shatabhisha Nakshatra of Aquarius. At the same time, auspicious yoga named Tripushkar and Siddha are also being formed by combining Tithi, Vaar and Nakshatra. The worship of Radha-Krishna done in these auspicious yogas will become more auspicious and fruitful. It is believed that God plays with flowers on this day, hence it is called Phulera Dooj.

Due to folk traditions, Phulera Duj has also been considered as Abujh Muhurt at many places. That’s why it is believed that Phulera Duj is a very auspicious day for auspicious works. On this day there is no need to observe Muhurta for marriage, engagement and other auspicious work.

Bal Gopal should be specially worshiped on this festival. Milk mixed with saffron should be filled in a conch shell and anointed. Then offer sandalwood, Akshat, Molly, Janeu, Abir, Gulal and flowers. Offer Tulsi leaves. After this, offer Makhan-Mishri with Tulsi. Perform aarti by lighting incense and lamps. Donate money and grains to a cow shelter.
