n relation to Janmashtami, this festival will be celebrated for two days on 18th and 19th August, due to the Panchang. In Dwapar Yuga, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Sri Krishna in the presence of Vasudeva and Devaki. Shri Krishna had many divine powers, he had Sudarshan Chakra, Kaustubh Mani, Panchajanya Shankha.

There is a story told about King Paundrak in the Mahabharata and the Bhagavata Purana. King Paundrak called himself the real Krishna and an incarnation of Vishnu. He too had made his form exactly like that of Shri Krishna. King Paundrak was the king of Pundra Raja.

King Paundrak also had Sudarshan Chakra

Some people also believe that Paundrak was the king of Kashi. Paundrak was a knower of elusive sciences. With the help of Mayabi Vidyas, Paundrak had made a fake Sudarshan Chakra. He too had a gem similar to that of Kaustum Mani. He also put peacock feathers on his head, kept his flute. He had made himself like Shri Krishna and declared the real Shri Krishna as fake.

Paundrak had challenged Shri Krishna for war.

Shri Krishna also knew about King Paundrak. He forgave Paundrak’s mistakes in the beginning, but once King Paundrak sent a message to Shri Krishna in Dwarka that I am the real incarnation of Lord Vishnu. You leave Dwarka and run away or fight with me.

Shri Krishna killed Paundrak

After receiving the message of King Paundrak, Shri Krishna and Balarama reached to fight with him. When Shri Krishna and Balarama saw King Paundrak in the battlefield, they were surprised, because Paundrak also had all the things that Shri Krishna had, and his form was also like that of Shri Krishna. Shri Krishna defeated Paundrak in the battle and killed him.

never copy anyone

The lesson in the story of King Paundrak is that we should never imitate anyone. The real is always the real. We harm ourselves in the pursuit of copying. This mistake should be avoided.
