Goswami Tulsidas Jayanti is celebrated on the seventh day of Shukla Paksha of Savan month. Which this time is Thursday, August 4. Goswami Tulsidasji was born in the year 1554 in Rajapur village of Chitrakoot district of Uttar Pradesh. In this village is Sri Ramcharit Manas Mandir, where Tulsidasji wrote this book in 966 days. He died in Samvat 1680.

It is said that Tulsidas did not cry after his birth but the word Ram came out of his mouth. That’s why his childhood name was Rambola. It is also said that Tulsidas had thirty-two teeth from birth.

Life of Goswami Tulsidas
His mother Hulsi passed away after his birth. Father’s name was Atmaram. From the beginning, the child Rambola began to live under the shelter of these scholars. Later Baba Narahari named him Tulsidas. Narahari Baba is considered the Guru of Tulsidas. Tulsidas was married to Ratnavali. After some time of marriage, he separated from his wife and became absorbed in the devotion of Shri Ram.

Tulsidas composed many books in his 126 years of life. Among them Sri Ramcharit Manas is the most famous. Many people read Sundarkand of this book every day. Vinay Patrika and Hanuman Chalisa were also composed by Tulsidas.

Shree Ramcharit Manas was written at the behest of Shivji
It is believed that Shivaji came to Tulsidasji in a dream and ordered him to compose a poem in his own language. With my blessings, your design will flourish like Samaveda. Ye sapna dekh he woke up. After this, on the day of Ramnavami in Samvat 1631, this yoga was made as it was the time of Rama’s birth in Treta Yuga. Tulsidasji started writing Shriramcharitmanas that morning.

Ramcharitmanas was written in 966 days
Goswamiji started writing Ramcharit Manas in the year 1631. This book was completed on the fifth of Shukla Paksha of Agahan month of Samvat 1633. It took 2 years 7 months and 26 days to complete. It is said that Tulsidas ji first offered this book to Shivaji when the composition was complete. Then Tulsidasji went to Kashi with it and kept this book in the temple of Lord Vishwanath. It is believed that Satyam Shivam Sundaram was written on it in the morning.

Acknowledgment: Sriram and Hanumanji had given darshan to Tulsidasji
It is believed that Tulsidasji was given darshan by Lord Shriram and Hanumanji. When Tulsidas ji went to Kashi on pilgrimage, he kept chanting the name of Ram. After this Hanumanji gave him darshan. After this he prayed to Hanumanji to see Lord Ram. Hanuman ji told that Shriram will be met in Chitrakoot. After this Tulsidas ji had darshan of Lord Rama in Chitrakoot on the occasion of Mouni Amavasya.
